Megan Rae Kahn is the founder and Managing Partner of the Conundrum Group.  She is experienced in the courtroom and serves as lead counsel on the Group's trademark, family and criminal matters.   She is proud to run a law firm that is devoted to solving problems efficiently, creating lasting relationships and using technological advances to reduce the cost of legal services.  Megan was recently named one of the top 40 family lawyers under 40 in Colorado by the American Society of Legal Advocates.

Megan has over a decade of experience with the practice of law.  She began her legal career during college as a paralegal with an East Coast firm, where she assisted on complex patent and trademark litigation matters and class action claims related to Hurricane Isabel.  She also developed an interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution and in 2003 obtained her mediation certification through focused training on family law.

Megan attended the University of Maryland and graduated from the honors program with a BA in Sociology in 2004.  Her coursework at Maryland included extensive legal training and her honor's thesis addressed constitutional and civil rights.  She went on to attend the University of Denver College of Law evening program, as she worked full time during the day as a paralegal and research assistant for the notable Denver criminal defense firm Recht & Kornfeld.   In addition, Megan spent a semester interning with a Telluride based law firm, where she helped represent clients in trademark appeals and other intellectual property matters.  She also spent a summer semester studying International Law in Rhodes, Greece through an affiliate program with Tulane Law School.

Since 2010, Megan has devoted her practice to family law and has obtained extensive trial experience.   She worked at the Van Der Jagt Law Firm on a variety of family and criminal law matters, appearing in courts throughout the Front Range – including the successful defense of a felony matter and dramatic victories with respect to parenting time, child support, spousal support and property distribution in divorce matters.  She immediately assumed a leadership role at the firm and excelled at complex trial advocacy matters.  Megan is a member of the Colorado Bar Association (Criminal and Family Law sections), the Heart of the Rockies Bar Association, and the 7th Judicial District Bar Association.

Megan exemplifies the Conundrum Group’s commitment to the community.  At the University of Maryland, she volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and as a substitute elementary school teacher.  During law school she mentored University of Maryland undergraduates interested in legal studies, donated her time to work for We the People at Platte Canyon High School, and assisted a California non-profit in the prosecution of a gender discrimination claim.  She also donated her time during law school to trademark and other intellectual property legal matters for the Colorado non profit Light Gives Heat.   After entering private practice, she handled family law matters pro bono for Metro Volunteer Lawyers and volunteered as an attorney poll watcher for the Voter Protection Team in Denver.  In Summer 2013, Megan and Ben Kahn devoted more than 180 hours of legal services pro bono to a local Salida mom's case, successfuly helping her in a heavily litigated battle over the relocation of her son.

In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with family, surfing, snowboarding, cooking, traveling, and practicing yoga.  Megan is also the owner and operator of another small business dedicated to yoga and health called “Yoga Olas”.
